Stovewood construction is displayed in the north wall of our lobby. The original building was built in 1902 by Mr. and Mrs. Ed Disgarden who came to Door County from Montreal, Canada. An addition was built on in 1911. Over the years and through a variety of owners, the hotel has been used as a post office in 1915; consultation office of Dr. G.R. Egeland who traveled to Ellison Bay by boat once a week in the summertime and saw patients in his office; birthplace of several Door County residents; dental office of Dr. Uno Nyman in the late 1930's and early 1940's; an ice cream shop; and also several restaurants including the Marco Polo in the 1970's which featured Chinese and Italian Cuisine. Our hotel is now a lovely seven suite Bed & Breakfast.

Our furniture is made from old barn-wood that has been refurbished. Our king size beds have blue and white checkered duvet covers; while our queen size beds have red and white checkered duvet covers. All beds have Hudson Bay blankets.

We make a full, warm homemade breakfast from scratch and deliver it to your suite around 8:00AM in breakfast baskets. A light tap on your door lets you know that breakfast is waiting for you.

With 154 feet of lake frontage in our back yard - two large piers and 22 boat slips - relaxation is just moments away. Many guests like to take their basket to the waters edge and have breakfast while watching the sail boats quietly glide by. Our gorgeous sunsets are breathtaking.
